PG armor level 4 - Protection against kidnapping
Armor level 4 is one of the most used in those states of the country with significant presence of organized criminals, because those criminals use more expensive and powerful weapons.
Resists impacts from projectiles up to 7.62 caliber, fired by AK-47 (popularly known as cuerno de chivo), a very common type of weapon among organized crime. La velocidad que alcanzan estas balas es de 710 a 750 metros por segundo.
This level is used in our country to protect against kidnapping perpetrated by organized crime, because it resists attacks carried out with the weapons commonly used by such criminals.
Armor with acero y/o fibras
Level 4 armor can be made with steel, synthetic fibers or a combination of both materiales.
- Con fibras aramidas se aplican de 40 a 60 capas del material depending on the manufacturer; using other aramid fibers o polímeras se incorpora un armor de 19 a 22 mm de espesor.
- In the case of ballistic steel, se usa el tipomedium, with aleación demanganeso y titanio.
The ballistic steel we use comes from specialized manufacturers and is certified by the world leader:HP White, an independent laboratory expert in ballistic resistance and quality withtrol in armoring.
It should be noted that aramid fibers have a useful life of up to 5 years, while the resistance of ballistic steel has no expiration.
Armor de cristales
Level 4 armored glass is 29 to 36 mm thick, depending on the manufacturer. Unlike other armorers, we use glass with Sun Advance technology, which prevents its resistance from being affected after long exposure to the sun (common armored glass can lose up to 50% of its resistance if left in the sun for more than two hours, something common in a vehicle).
Suitable vehicles for this armor level
The approximate weight of the armoring at level 4 ranges from 350 to 790 kg, depending de los materiales y el tipo de vehículo. Por ello los vehicles recomendados for level 4 armoring son aquellos with motores de 290 caballos de fuerza o más.
Correspondence with other armor standards
Protecto Glass level 4 corresponds to level B5 of the CEN and level C Plus of the Mexican Official Standard.
