Armor Levels Overview
Armoring Levels - We provide armoring at every level and degree of complexity
Armoring is classified into five levels, depending on its resistance to the diverse types of guns and projectiles. A simple way of understanding the protection provided by the different armoring levels is as follows:
Level III provides protection against handguns:
- Most revolvers, pistols, and submachine guns are considered handguns.
- The world statistics available show that these are the guns generally used by common criminals*.
High Armoring Levels (IV, V and VI) resist virtually all handguns, including those known as long guns:
- Rifles, assault rifles, and some shotguns are generally classified as long guns.
- This type of weapon is commonly used by organized crime.
Level VII is the most resistant and can stop long-range high-powered projectiles in addition to all guns from the previous levels. These weapons are expensive and used especially in organized crime attacks.
New Technologies
In order to benefit from the newest armoring technologies, some of our levels present a variant, Multi-hit B33, which incorporates lighter, more resistant bulletproof glass. To learn more about this revolutionary innovation, please refer to this page.
| Level | Crime | Type of weapon | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| III | Carjacking, Assault to passengers | All withventional .22, .38, .45, 9 mm caliber guns, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum, and submachine guns of same calibers | |||
| III-B33 Multi-hit | Carjacking, Assault to passengers | Incorporates 22mm-thick Multi-hit B33 bulletproof glass, withstanding up to four AK47 hits and one AR15 impact. | |||
| IV | Kidnapping | AK-47 military rifles or 7.62 x .39 FMJ/PB/FE and lower caliber rifles, AR-15 and M-16. | |||
| V | Kidnapping, atentado | 7.62 x .51 FMJ/SC/AP and lower caliber military rifles, M80 Galil, 5.56 NATO, etc. | |||
| V-B33 Multi-hit | Kidnapping, atentado | Incorporates 43mm-thick Multi-hit B33 bulletproof glass, providing triple resistance and 20% less weight. Withstands multiple hits from long guns with a 7-cm distance between impacts. | |||
| VI | Kidnapping, atentado | Withstands assault rifles up to 762 x 63 AP. | |||
| VII | Highest level protection | Resists impacts from ammunition as powerful as .50", used by snipers from great distances or to pierce vehicle and helicopter engines in motion. | |||
Robbery and Assault
The most frequent crimes are robbery and assault, committed by common criminals uwithoutg low-power weapons (which are cheaper and easier to obtain on the black market). Therefore, to prevent these crimes we recommendLevel III armoringandIII-B33Multi-hit.
Kidnapping y atentado
Kidnapping and attacks are less frequent and are generally committed by organized crime, using high-power weapons. To combat the risk of these crímenes recomendamos los siguientes niveles: IV y V.
Attacks on High-Profile Individuals
Level VI is designed for those at risk of suffering meticulously planned attacks from long distances, uwithoutg long-range weapons.
Military Operations
Level VII is used in military and police operations, to combat terrorism and to protect high-value individuals and strategic security areas.
What is the Most Commonly Used Armoring Level?
Level III is the most commonly used in cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, because the most frequent crimes are robbery and assault.
How Do I Know What Armoring Level I Need?
The armoring level should match your actual risk level. To learn about the procedures and standards we follow to determine your risk level, visit the Determining Your Risk Level section.
